“Dear, dear! How queer everything is to-day! And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I’ve been changed in the night? Let me think: was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I’m not the same, the next question is, Who in the world am I? Ah, that’s the great puzzle!” ~ Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland
It is difficult to judge the scale of this without some kind of reference. But the door was only about 4, maybe 5 feet high. That is what made me think of Alice In Wonderland. I have never read any of the Alice books. But when I was researching quotes, I decided I want to read them. Or at least one of them. Any suggestions?

I’ve got no suggestion for you, but I really love this image, Emilio.
It’s been so long since I’ve visited blogs … trying to catch up today! What a treat to see this image.

Thanks, Laurie. But I’ve come to the realization that I will never catch up. I thought, when life gets too hard for you, go blogging! But shoot, with the blogging comes writing and liking and commenting! It becomes almost as much work as life.

Such a great photo and the quote goes so well with it. I have read the Alice books – much prefer to watch the movies now. Quaint English.

Shoot, I was hoping they would be good. But as soon as I finish the two books I am reading simultaneously now, I will pick up, “Through The Looking Glass” and give it a try! I’ll let you know.

I love doors and the mystery of what lies beyond, Emilio! You captured this one so wonderfully…I love it!

I am a sucker for doors! Could take a million pictures of them. Love this one Emilio!

Thanks, Lynn. It was very crowded around there and as I was trying to take the shot, people were looking at me then the door probably trying to figure out what I was seeing. Why take a shot of a door? But it was the size and texture that got my attention!

Awesome image Emilio 🙂 Somehow I can’t get the image of Peter Boyle in the Mel Brooks movie Young Frankenstein out of my head after seeing this image. Great work.

When I was working on it last night I thought the clouds were more obvious. Of course, I’m looking at it on a different screen this morning. I get your reference to Young Frankenstein. Maybe that’s what attracted me to the angle but when shooting, I was just trying to get the moon in the shot at the same time.

Cela ressemble a la porte de la cour intérieure d’une hacienda, comme on peut la voir dans un très vieux film-série de Zorro …!!!

Mais oui! It does look a bit like a hacienda door, the rounded arch and the rough textured wall. It is actually part of the Treasure Island Hotel in Las Vegas. I have no idea what it might be for. Probably storage or utility connections. Or a gnomes home!

There were so many quotes I found that I liked. This was one of them. Thanks Angeline!

Stupid me! You were referring to my question of which Alice book to read. That just went right over my head. Yes, that would be a good place to start. Thanks!
