A pretty treacherous 5 hour drive through a snowstorm led me to a long planned reunion with a dear friend. After delicious food and drink, and hours of talking, we woke the next morning to serenity.
Check out this post on Life on the Bike and Other Fab Things to see more images from our amazing getaway to Keswick Hall.
Love this shot, Laurie, so beautiful in its minimalism. I, too, thought it was the beach. I am perplexed that in this recent post there are comments from 2015…I am obviously late to the party. :)Your work is terrific.

Jane, you are so observant. Sadly, we had a sudden death in the family last week, and Joe was kind (as always) and posted one of my old images for me). What a guy!

I felt Like I was copying greatness when I discovered our posts were neigbours so to speak. I can say that it was a complete coincidence. Your shot is 1st class Laurie.

Unbelievable image, Laurie! I, too, thought it looked like a beach 🙂 Perfect serenity, wonderful negative space, fantastic tonal contrast – love everything about this image. So glad you tromped around in the snow to get it!

Great photo that at first glance made me think of a beach. After reading your narrative my mind quickly changed out of my swimsuit to a parka and boots. Very effective!

I told Joe (above) that I too, thought the image looked like a sand dune … and I knew it wasn’t because I was standing in the snow to get the shot!

Awesome image Laurie, at first glance it looks like a beach 🙂 Then you realize the legs on the chairs look a little short. Great image.

I too, thought it looked like these chairs were in the middle of a sand dune! I saw the potential for this shot from inside the hotel and was tromping through the snow to take the shot. I was kinda worried I hadn’t gotten it!

This is such a great shot. Soothing. Mellow. You’re not going to tell us anything about it? How cruel!

Later today I’ll be adding a new post to Life on the Bike, with details about an amazing 24 hour reunion at Keswick Hall http://www.keswick.com/. Thanks to your reminder, I added this brief description to this post: A pretty treacherous 5 hour drive through a snowstorm led me to a long planned reunion with a dear friend. That was the word I was looking for. So you drove through a snowstorm on your bike? Crazy lady! And what a shameless plug for me to go visit your blog again today. I have more important things to do than spend the entire day on the internet. (Although it does sound relaxing!)

just checked out the link for Keswick Hall and though I don’t golf, it sure looks like a place I would enjoy visiting. Beautiful!
