I really did have a field day in that subway 🙂 But I just read yesterday that MTA security can give photographers a hard time. Apparently, it’s not “illegal” to shoot in the tunnels, but if they see you, they make it very unpleasant. It’s a good thing I didn’t know, or I wouldn’t have had the courage to pull out my camera. Now that I do, though, I still want to capture moments from there. I’m wondering if I will feel emboldened enough with my little Fuji to try it out this week. Otherwise, I may be relegated to my iPhone, which isn’t bad, but just not ideal… Wish you could join us, Emilio! But your ears should surely end up burning come Wednesday 😉
About the Fuji- are you as happy as Joe is? I keep hearing that it’s a good everyday camera easy to carry with you. But nothing about quality. No one prints anymore? Online the images look fantastic as far as clarity. But then, sometimes so does my Canon kit lens!
Emilio, as you noted, the quality on screen is wonderful. As for printing, that is something on my bucket list to try with a number of my images. I know there are some parameters to follow in LR when exporting for print. Once I figure out what they should be, I’m going to give it a go and I’ll let you know. I’m also going to google print quality from the Fuji x series to see what turns up!
Thanks, Joe! Funny you should mention that 🙂 I’ve been wanting to get back since my trip in December, and believe it or not, my hubby now has a business trip there next week and I’ve decided to tag along 🙂 Our son lives in the city and we have some plans with him, but I’m on my own all Wednesday and, I think, most of Thursday. I definitely am planning a trip to B&H! And of course, I need to figure out a plan of attack for where I want to shoot (Times Square at night, Brooklyn Bridge, maybe Wall Street or Central Park – so many possibilities!)
I realize it’s short notice, but I do plan on getting up more frequently beginning in the fall, once my daughter is safely ensconced in college 🙂
Stacy, so great meeting you and spending time with you and Joe. Yes, it was awesome watching you both at work and can’t wait to see your great shots. Until next time!
A really wonderful street shot Stacy! I love the contrast with dark and bright areas.

Thanks, Elina 🙂 The subway certainly lends itself to the wonderful contrasts in light! So interesting to photograph.
