Susan Cain is the author of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. How does this pertain to the image above? Simple. A close friend and I took a recent trip to Napa County. California wine country. This is the exterior to one of the tasting rooms we stopped at. Actually, we started out from Las Vegas with our wives who decided to stay in San Francisco rather than join us for the day. I admit I did have a different quote I was going to use but when I saw this one I said to myself, “that’s me”! It’s also Chris and Cee at their respective blogs 61 Musings and Cee’s Photography. It’s also, probably, a lot of other people who might even be reading this right about now.

    1. I went back to take a look and you’re right, The water looks frozen. But it wasn’t. It was a beautiful autumn day. Shirtsleeves all the way.

  3. Emilio, the image is so incredibly detailed!
    I am so far from being an introvert that I sometimes tire of being the one “on” all the time. In fact, one of the unexpected joys of photography has been the chance to hide behind the camera. Gives me an excuse not to talk.

  4. Beautiful photo in monochrome. I can definitely relate to being an introvert. We should all start a club and have regular meetings…..wait a minute….that wouldn’t work! Better a glass of wine with a friend and using comments on our blogs to get together.

  5. Emilio, I love this quote, and I love you sharing that fact about yourself! I am definitely an introvert and am learning not to apologize for that. I’ve always enjoyed my own company and much prefer a small gathering of close friends. A business cocktail party terrifies me! And I’ve always been much better at the written word than spoken. As for a Napa Wine tour? Perfect as you describe it and as you’ve captured it! Cheers 🍷🍷

    1. Ok, Stacy, I see the two glasses. Now, give us a tutorial on the use of lightroom or photoshop. And try not to slur!

      But, actually, yeah, I hate gatherings- even family gatherings as they tire me out. And I hate making small talk. And don’t get me started about having to give a talk in front of the people in my company! Or Christmas parties. Or award ceremonies!

    1. Yes, Joe, we did have more than one glass of wine each. I mean it was a tasting, not a sipping! But Like I said above, they pour such small amounts. It cost something like $20 for a glass. Back home, I could get an entire case for $20! (The stuff I drink is not expensive!)
