Nikon D7000, 35mm f/1.8 lens, 1/250sec @ f/1.8, ISO 200
Still test driving my friend’s Nikon D7000, I couldn’t resist putting the camera through its paces when I walked by my local movie theater late one weekday evening. I was drawn to the nearly deserted lobby, and of course, all the lines, curves, and shadows and the brightly lit signs. I loved the possibilities this scene held for a black and white conversion. The result? More love for the D7000!

Stacey I love this in black and white! Such great contrast and I love they way you chose to compose the shot within the frame! Really Nice!

Thanks, Robyn! I knew I wanted the symmetry; it was the vertical composition that I experimented a lot with 🙂

Wonderful symmetry and rippling reflections Stacey!

That symmetry took me quite a few shots and a bit of post-processing cropping, Patti! Thanks for noticing 🙂

Thanks, Elina! It’s fun to really study those movie posters. From the Wizard of Oz to Halle Barry in James Bond – quite a collection 😉
