“Perhaps people, and kids especially, are spoiled today, because all the kids today have cars, it seems. When I was young you were lucky to have a bike.” ~ James Cagney
And yes, I know who James Cagney was. “Made it, Ma. Top of the world!”
White Heat was in theaters 34 years before I was born. Cagney died when I was not quite three years old. I want a legacy like that. I don’t care about fame, I just want to be remembered for something long after I’m gone! So please go to Photos By Emilio and remember me. I’m not gone yet. And I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. But just in case….
Emilio, what I can’t figure out is how and where you find all the wonderful old cars you share with us! This is like right out of a movie set. I’m thinking Elliott Ness and the Untouchables (though James Cagney works just as well). Great shot!

I think when you have an interest in something, it finds you. I don’t go out looking for old cars and trucks. They just seem to appear. Probably, more accurately, you get a heightened awareness. Most people wouldn’t even notice an old rusting car or truck on the side of the road. I do!

A shot after my own heart. Emilio I love this kind of subject. It’s so sharp I felt I could put my hand on my monitor and touch the car. Nice PP.

Well, then, good thing it wasn’t a shot of a nude female. You could get in trouble for that!

I think I have. I have several other angles, some in color, some in split tones, and in black and white. Thanks, Mike!

While I do love your photos, I am growing more and more fond of your writing style. At times humorous, at times thoughtful, always engaging. And that Cagney quote … what would he think today? Not only do kids have cars, but often better ones than their parents!
